A lot of good things to say about this place! we went out for my birthday recently and went all out on dinner and got plenty of leftovers. we tried: cucumber salad - i dont think it had garlic but thats okay it was a very nice and mild flavor profile Chongqing Chicken - probably the best version of this dish i've found...the chicken was incredibly crunchy and did not get soggy. the smell of the dried peppers is amazing and totally makes this dish excellent. Hot & Spicy Cumin Lamb - excellent flavor, has a bit of chew but not because it was dry Beef with Chinese Broccoli - beef was very tender and flavorful, sauce/gravy was excellent and was not too oily. reheated perfectly next day. green beans - excellent, i order this at every chinese restaurant i can and these were probably the best i've ever had scallion pancakes - very nice sweet and sour spareribs - just OK imo, meat to bone chunk ratio wasn't great dan dan noodles - noodles reminded me of linguine? didnt have the alkaline chew Yang Zhou Fried Rice - very nice fried rice, well seasoned and cooked perfectly minus points: mandatory tip was added for a party of 5, despite the fact the menu states its only for parties of 6 or more bathroom was a mess even though we arrived right after the place opened
Very good, authentic Chinese food & a great place to go with a group. They get busy, so plan ahead. I've been twice and everything I've tried has been delicious. I especially enjoyed the vegetable dishes like the eggplant & they have lots of traditional spicy choices for the spice lovers in your life.
For excellent Chinese cuisine in the Northgate area, try the local favorite Golden Dragon; their diverse menu and flavorful dishes are sure to satisfy your cravings. Don't miss the savory Dim Sum options.
The chili oil tastes solid but it tastes like the over the a counter mapo tofu sauce. It comes with generous amount of beef and tofu, but it's well justified with the price being $27 which is on the expensive side. The server served the wrong order initially and she was nice enough to give me a rice replacement worrying that the rice gets too cold. The ambiance is nice with traditional Chinese furnitures and decors. Will come back with more people for more food!
A go to spot for authentic Chinese food! Highly recommend every soup on their menu (especially the pig trotter soup). Every dish on their menu that I've tried in my numerous trips here has been amazing (recommend salted egg yolk green beans and the house cured pork!) Their desserts also never miss (recommend the osmanthus blossom raindrop jelly!). Their service is always very friendly and service is very efficient with QR code ordering and the servers confirming your order. They also have a very spacious restaurant with very cool chairs.
Decent Chinese restaurant with spacious sitting area. Staffs were helpful, food was served pretty fast for lunch time. We ordered Spicy beef noodles and braised pork with rice. I prefer the rice more though. Noodle portion was shareable just slightly salty. Maybe I'll try something else beside noodle next time.
Overall a yummy place to go if you're craving Szechuan food! Most of the dishes we ordered had a slight kick to it but it was a pleasant kind of spice. It lingered in the mouth and had me reaching for the water but didn't churn my stomach like certain spicy foods. We ordered the pork belly hot & spicy dry pot, cumin lamb stir fry, string beans, fried rice, fish with tofu in peppercorn broth among other things. Personally I wasn't a fan of the dry pot. It was a little dry, as maybe the name implied, and a bit salty. It wasn't bad but I preferred the cumin lamb to it which was flavorful and tender. The fried rice was not too salty and was good to balance out the strong flavors of the entrees we ordered. I really enjoyed the fish in broth. The fish was flaky and soft and the broth was rich. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and there weren't too many people in the restaurant. It was relatively quiet and the service was good.
There is so much potential in this restaurant but unfortunately the food is not as good as I expected. The place is spacious and I really like the Chinese style interior. The service is decent and they never pressured up to leave even as it gets crowded. The food portions are very good as you get a lot for each dish. I just wish the food taste better. I ordered some typical Sichuan food such as the dry lot frog but somehow the food is just missing some necessary magic to taste right. I think the restaurant is missing some authentic Sichuan spices so the food just tastes bland. The frog dry pot has decent pieces of frogs but the breading is too much on the frogs and I think the frogs should have been fresh instead of frozen. The pork pieces are cut out a little too big to bring out the right flavor. The veggies are also cut too large. Overall it's an alright restaurant and worth going if you are in Seattle area but if you've had better Sichuan food before it's not worth coming here specifically.
I came here to send my friend off after college graduation. Man, this place was pretty interesting. I love the chairs here.. Service was really good, but the food was extremely spicy. My mouth felt melted in spice and the complimentary rice was well needed. I think if my tolerance was higher I would come back. But I was disappointed by the lack of variety this restaurant had. If you love spicy Sichuanese food, come here. If not, go somewhere else
